U.S. stocks rallied for a third straight day Thursday, as investors turned optimistic, following the European Central Bank’ latest policy measures aimed at boosting liquidity in the European banking system.
The Dow Jones industrial average jumped 183 points, or 1.7%, the S&P 500 added 21 points, or 1.8%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite rose 46 points, or 1.9%.

Friday: The week culminates with the Labor Department’ August jobs report, which will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists expect unemployment to stay steady at 9.1%. Payrolls are forecast to grow by 63,000 jobs in September. The economy added no new jobs in August.
