Calamatta Cuschieri, one of Malta’s leading Financial Institutions recently inaugurated its new offices in Birkirkara during a social event on Thursday 22nd June. The new office, which is now the new Headquarters of the organisation, is located on the Birkirkara bypass and forms part of the newly built Ewropa Business Centre.
Since its origins dating back to 1972, Calamatta Cuschieri has always been a pioneer in the local Financial Services industry. As a founding member of the Malta Stock Exchange, the company is proud to have played an integral role in the development of the sector in Malta, which undoubtedly has been one of the catalysts for growth and an important pillar of the Maltese economy.
The company has expanded its activities and is offering a wide range of services ranging from the traditional Stockbroking to Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Fund Services, Pension products as well as Financial Software Development and Enterprise Marketing Services.
At the event Mr. Alex Cuschieri, Chairman at Calamatta Cuschieri said, “Success requires foresight, a clear vision and commitment to invest in key areas such as Human Resources & Technology within a modern working environment that promotes open communication. Today we are happy to officially launch our new Head Office which is testimony to this.”

Over the past 5 years, the company has increased its head count from just 35 people to over 135 people during the first quarter of 2017. This growth has been on the back of exponential business growth but also in line with the company’s dedicated goal to continue to provide the best in class service in the areas in which it operates.
Calamatta Cuschieri’s offices have been designed with the aim of enhancing intra company communication and have been finished with state-of-the-art technology to allow the company to continue to provide the highest quality service and client support.
During the launch event, Calamatta Cuschieri also took the opportunity to unveil its new venture with UBS who confirmed the appointment of Calamatta Cuschieri as the representatives of UBS (Lux) Funds in Malta. Mr Cuschieri said , ”We continue to work hard to establish strong relationships and alliances and in line with this we are therefore pleased to be associated with a prestigious name like UBS who have confirmed the appointment of Calamatta Cuschieri as the Representatives of UBS (Lux) Funds in Malta.”
Mr. Steffen Hölscher, Director at UBS Asset Management who was present at the event said, “We are more than happy to celebrate tonight, besides the new headquarters opening, also the appointment of Calamatta Cuschieri as our Representative for UBS (Lux) Funds and the main distributor in Malta. As you all know, Calamatta Cuschieri is a well-known and respected company in the local market place with a long history, which makes them a perfect partner for UBS Asset Management in Malta.”
Mr Hölscher continued to say, “Although UBS funds have been available to the local market for more than 10 years, I am also delighted to let you know that we will increase and deepen our relationship to Malta through the appointment of Calamatta Cuschieri quite strongly. We have increased the number of UBS funds registered with the local regulator up to more than 60 and hope that we can help to support the local investors in achieving their financial goals with our products and the support and advice from the client Advisors at Calamatta Cuschieri.”
This new venture will help Calamatta Cuschieri to strengthen its position locally and continue to maintain a leading position within the Financial Services industry.
