Throughout October, Calamatta Cuschieri Group organised a range of events to help raise awareness, and money in aid of Pink October Malta.

This year’s activities included multiple bake sales, a video competition, dress-down Fridays, and a raffle.

Prizes were generously donated from a number of employees, as well as from the wider community. Calamatta Cuschieri would like to thank all those who donated prizes for the raffle, including Marion Mizzi Wellbeing, Chop House, Rokna, Antonio’s Barber Shop, Brian Zammit Personal Training, Demajo Group of Companies, Embassy Cinema, Avon, Atelier Michael Tabone, and Marsovin.

Thanks to the generosity of these donations, we were able to raise €2,067.42 for Pink October Malta, and this will be donated to Action for Breast Cancer & the Marigold Foundation.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer globally, and is one of the leading causes of cancer related deaths in women over the age of 30 in Malta. By raising awareness about the simple steps that can be taken to reduce the chances of contracting breast cancer, and detecting it early on, Pink October Malta hopes for more people to be treated at an early stage, greatly increasing the chances of survival.

In addition to Pink October, Calamatta Cuschieri Group are taking part in a number of other events throughout the year for deserving causes, such as Movember, and the blood donation drive. In recent years, Calamatta Cuschieri Group has set up the CC Cancer Foundation, as well as organising well attended annual events, such as the Walk for Cancer.
