BAA – Traffic returns to growth in December

Traffic figures for December released this morning showed passenger numbers back in positive growth for the first time in 3 months. Post adjustment for the impact of the snow interruptions in 2010 overall passenger figures were up 0.6% for the month post declines of 1.3% and 1.6% in October and November respectively. Heathrow reported a post adjusted increase of 2.8% in December (-0.2% in November) and ended the year having served 69.4m passengers, a new record for the airport.

In addition to record passengers they also reported record flights which inches them closer to its annual limit and the group used the opportunity once again to stake a claim for further infrastructure to be built at Heathrow rather than a new airport being built in the South East.
