Calamatta Cuschieri joins Pink October Movement
Calamatta Cuschieri has joined the Pink October movement to help in the fight against breast Cancer. Throughout the month of October, the company will be organising a series of events to help raise funds for this cause. For every Friday in October Calamatta Cuschieri employees are encouraged to participate in DRESS DOWN Fridays by donating €10 and wearing a touch of pink. On the 7th of October we will be organising a Cake Bake off sale where employees are encouraged to bake cakes, cupcakes, cookies or muffins and then sell them to clients and other employees. All proceeds from the sales will be donated to Pink October. During this month we will also be organising an informative talk by a Breast cancer Specialist nurse. Clients are welcomed to participate in these events.
The company will be matching the amount raised from the events and therefore doubling the total amount of proceeds raised. All proceeds will be used for the purchasing of medical equipment that will further enhance breast cancer treatment. Those who wish to donate for the cause can visit www.pinkoctober.support.
Calamatta Cuschieri hosted it’s 2nd Blood Donation Drive
Calamatta Cuschieri, one of Malta’s leading financial services firms hosted its 2nd blood donation drive in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service on Thursday 2nd of April. An encouraging number of Calamatta Cuschieri’s staff donated blood, staff members from Camilleri Preziosi Advocates and the general public also joined in this initiative. The campaign forms part of the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, which aim to give back to the community as well as help people in need. Mr. Alan Cuschieri, Co-CEO at Calamatta Cuschieri said “Approximately 60 units of blood are needed on a daily basis, thus every volunteer counts. Calamatta Cuschieri firmly believes in the importance of CSR and the company will be expanding on other initiatives such as the Investing in Nature Campaign and the Walk for Cancer campaign.” A normal blood donation gives one unit of blood and people who have suffered great blood loss, may require about 50 units. Thus one or two serious accidents are often enough to drain blood stocks and this confirms the great importance of having satisfactory blood stocks at all times.
Calamatta Cuschieri initiates annual Blood Donation Campaign.
Local leading financial services firm Calamatta Cuschieri & Co Ltd recently hosted their first company blood-drive with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of giving blood. The event was held in Merchant Street in Valletta. Members of the general public were invited to join staff members and to participate by donating blood. Mr. Alan Cuschieri, Director of Business Development at Calamatta Cuschieri, stressed on the importance of such corporate social responsibility events and encouraged other local firms to take initiatives to give that little bit back to society. He also said that Calamatta Cuschieri has set up a CSR team which is led by Mr. Mark Vella and that the company is planning to organise other CSR events on an on-going basis.
Calamatta Cuschieri initiates Investing in Nature Campaign
Calamatta Cuschieri, one of Malta’s leading financial services firms announced their Investing in Nature Campaign. This new CSR campaign will form part of the firms annual social responsibility contribution. This years event was held on the 4th November at Ghajn Tuffieha where staff and friends planted over 100 trees as part of the Tree For You Campaign. Speaking to the press Mr. Alan Cuschieri, Director of Business Development said that “Calamatta Cuschieri recognises the importance of preserving and investing in the natural environment that sustains all life on the earth for future generations. We aim to build upon this campaign and grow our contribution year on year.”
